A blurb about rejection
" ... after waiting in that bar for three hours. Three hours of watching every person enter and exit the door. Three hours of nursing my drinks, trying to make them last as long as possible with the hope that the next one I would be drinking with her. Three hours of stagnant cigarette smoke and every song from the jukebox except the ones I wanted to hear. Three hours before I realized that I had been played for a fool. Not by her, by me. I had fooled myself into believing that I actually had a chance; fooled myself into believing that I would impress her; fooled myself into believing that I actually meant something. Three hours and I didn't even get to hear a good song on the jukebox, not even the ones I paid for."
