Can you feel it breathing?
CITY OF SILHOUETTES

The people in their bars are sitting
but their minds are far away
wandering far away

On a black train to no-where
the crooked tracks are traveling
traveling ‘cross the sky

And we sit here writing poetry
broken lines of poetry
by the garish city lights

Whispering songs of life and death
we’re whispering
a-whispering

The darkness unfolds around us
its gentle touch around us
its silver trims around us

And we lay here singing lonely songs of misery
broken lines of poetry
drunken rhymes and poetry

While somewhere ‘cross this barren land
the people in their bars are sitting
lonely, in their bars are sitting

And the trains go by a-rattling
on broken tracks go rattling
Far across the Sky.
