A band,a bar,and one night.
ANIMAL

The songs on the wall, were at the
highest card in the deck.
Smothered with heavy noise,
the pulse so vibrant with it's presence
the wood actually warped outward.
Inside the smoke from various burning substances
helped carry the music into the old barns rafters.
Clinking,clanking,brown,green,and yellow bottles
Being drained like a man who's been trapped in
the desert for days finally coming upon some water.
So thirsty these leather wearing bikers and their
mad max persona which just feeds the songs on the wall.
Upstairs the crashing of numbered spheres could be heard.
Sticks being raised and jousted from corner to corner.
The females dance on.
Hot wives and girlfriends intertwined
with groupies,and sloppy drunken chicks.
Not that in any way makes them less important
to the songs on the wall.
Sex drugs and rock and roll the whole cliche
engulfs the entire scene, even spilling out to the parking lot.
The trusty protectors waiting for that usual
wasted violence, just before last call, blink the lights.
Some switch to water, others beg for one last shot.
Some are soaked with sweat, their legs not unlike
the scarecrow from the wizard of oz.They are also
looking for their brain.
The slow dancers gaze into each others blood shot eyes,
promising to call each other, neither giving their actual number.
The last chord rings true with a final crash from the cymbal.
"Thank you thank you very much".
House lights with an evil brightness awaken the masses.
Most of them scatter like insects afraid to be seen.
Everybody is moving much slower, less sturdy.
The floor seems to have molasses upon it.
Conversation among stragglers turns to what to do next.
Either a place where we can put some grease in our belly's
or take some early morning ski lessons.
Which ever way the party goes one things for certain
it's time to break down for the songs on the wall.
