This is written by me, a teenager growing up in a harsh world. i hope you can relate
Hiding behind the mask of what i should be.
Hoping to be all of what i could be.
Playing up my insecurities as if I like them.
Worrying my little brain until 2 a.m.

Hiding behind the mask of what i should be.
It taks a strong woman to act so carefree.
But i can play that role, I've got it down.
hush now - we can not make a sound.

Hiding behind the mask of what i should be.
Trying to act like I'm fine with who i may be.
Acting like i'm not slowly sinking within.
They always say you should be comfortable in your skin.

Hiding behind the mask of what i should be.
No one's listening long enough to hear my plea.
It's impossible to hide from the public eye
but now, i'm willing to give it a try.

Finally ignoring all the scrapes on my knee.
I'm done hiding behind the mask of what i should be.
