mom's an alcoholic.
She sits there motionless.
Watching the ashes flick away.
The pebbles lie still.
The wind doesn't move.
They all walk away.
As if another day is gone.
The bottle sits empty.
One last sip to finish off.
One lost memory forgotten.
As she wakes in the morning.
With the bitterness on her tongue.
The ignorance in her eyes.
She fears nothing has changed.
Another day in paradise.
Wasted along the road.
Stumbling for something to save her.
The second hand moves too slowly for her to regain hope.
And as the leaves fall and the seasons change, She's gone away.
That empty bottle she threw to sea, slowly drifts right upon shore.
She watches it crash onto land.
She lies there motionless.
Her breathes only taken with regret.
