A poem with more sensations than sense
I think of epic afternoons that start with sweet i love yous knocked out through morse code on sun stained front doors
of teasing queries
robert? mark? jack?
jill! i told you it was a phase and i don't wanna see you anymore
and of open the goddamn door!
and teeth grazing the ceiling as laughter pulls me into arms that always squeeze too hard in just the right way
i dream of ripe summer leaves that graze my skin like butterfly kisses
and staring at the sky until vertigo proves that down is up
and you're hanging upside down into infinity and toes grip grass the same texture as carpet thick for shagging
because no matter how much you want to
you're too scared to learn you can fly
I ponder kisses that ground you
and remind me of that time you held life at gunpoint and stole your own happily ever after
