Frank and Joe have one last conversation in the smoke shack outside of the local plant.
“Well they got rid of me today.”

“I heard. You were only two months from retirement weren't you?”

“Yeah. I put close to thirty years in at this plant. Guess I just have to keep working 'till the day I die.”

“I'll be gone before long too.”

“Rumor has it they're layin' off another hundred next week.”

“My last paycheck say's I get the ticket.”

“Mine say's all of area two will.”

“Did I tell you Sarah is three months pregnant?”

“Really? That's great news man.”

“Not if I get laid off it isn't.”

“Things are getting dry out there.”

“Maybe they 'ought to give me one of those bailouts.”

“Shit, Frank, you ain't rich enough to get free money.”

“Yeah, well, I've got to get back to work before they give me the boot. Good luck finding something different Joe. I'm real sorry to hear about your retirement.”
