short poem
Children are annoying.
Smelly,
Oozy,
Sticky
Creatures.
Children are professional style-crampers,
Wanton destroyers of peace and quiet.

Children are puzzling.
Contrary,
Noisy,
Active
Creatures.
Children are walking disasters,
Wheedlers of the first order.

Babies are interesting.
Fat,
Soft,
Curious
Creatures.
Babies are sponge-like observers,
Seeing it all for the first time.

Newborns are exhausting.
Discontented,
Unpredictable,
Relentless
Creatures.
Newborns are vortexes of need
That always sleep (unless you are).

Spencer is awesome.
Perfect,
Quirky,
Funny
Creature.
Spencer is just what I wanted,
Even though no one asked me.

Children are precious.
Vexing,
Hilarious,
Vulnerable
Creatures.
They are the future made flesh,
And somehow they are all my children now.
