this was a birthday gift to a friend of mine who had never been in love...
The sound of a heart skipping a beat or two,
The sweetest melody a human being can feel,
The blood running hot everywhere all at once,
Cheeks that turn red in moments of truth.

She places his right hand on her beating chest,
With his left he pulls her hair slowly back,
This force of nature could equal an earthquake,
The ground did shake under him he knows.

Seconds easily turn into hours maybe days,
A he and a she so lost deep into their eyes,
Finding wonder in the simplest of places,
Hoping that two really can turn into one.

The weather is cold to everything else around,
But the girl feels heat waves behind her neck,
The man has no will because she took it all,
There is something so pure here so real.

Is there a heart that can take so much love?
So little time but gone so far off the edge,
A magnet to each other a killing need,
No escape but pain when they are apart.

No instinct telling them to run away,
Yet a single purpose in life they find,
A pair perfect like gorgeous flowers,
Petals in sync and colors that match.

The he and the she have found it,
The thing we all want so selfishly,
A heart to belong inside forever,
Another being made just for you.
