A poem I wrote sort of about my folks.
I thought I knew love when I found you.
But now as our golden age approaches,
I reflect on the love I thought I knew.
First came a boy, all shiny and new.
Our perfect little angel, oh the time, it just flew.
Then came a girl,
What would we do?
We muddled our way through.
Soon they were grown,
Left our home feeling empty.
A new boy and eventually a girl filled our halls,
With balls and leashes.
Now as I stare at the ocean blue,
I think of you, and what I thought I knew.
Never could I have known our love would have grown.
And as the ages pass, I finally know, at last,
You are my one and only.
