This is a poem I was assigned to write in english
Where I’m from…
By: Dyzz

I come from custody battles,
That I have finally won.
I come from distances,
And nearness, a constant reminder of home

~*~

I come from the lone star,
Rainstorms in December.
From nature,
Coyotes singing at the door.

~*~

I come from squiggles and lines
Shading and doodling.ß
From puzzles with my mother,
Late at night.

~*~

I come from silence,
Crickets in the warm evening.
From swimming in winter,
And day long rain showers.

~*~

I come from military travel,
Moving from place to place.
From Texas and Wyoming,
Both becoming a slight home.

~*~

I’m from edges,
Spins and jumps.
From programs and practices,
And learning new tricks.

~*~

I come from warm hugs,
And constant support.
From happiness, and freedom.
I am from Home.
