Poem on betrayal.
Did you suppose I would forget?
Your palm on my face.
Your whisper in my ear.
“I love, love, you my dear.”

Your fingers gliding down my thigh.
As you kept up your lie.

Forget you?
Could I ever?

Your breath rushing past my throat
When you move in and out of me.
Your were just killing me, weren’t you?
Slowly and surely.

For good measure,
“You’re beautiful.”
For pain,
“It’s forever.”
Promises and lies.

What part was I suppose to forget?

The way you moved in me?
Being oh so gentle until you were through with me?

Or the way you discarded me?
Replaced me.
The kiss you left lingering on her lips?
And then the one you passed to mine?

Forget you?
How could I?
Your in my very soul.
Carved delicately and maliciously.
As if I could.
