Poem taken from my new anthology, regretting one moment.....that changes all that follow
I sit here and reminisce of times gone by
Of when we cried with laughter not simply cried
When each problem was a problem to share and resolve
Before any doubt had yet to evolve
Where did we fail in our relationship?
So hard to be sure now as I reminisce
Remember the anger, bitterness and pain?
The torture to each other again and again
Why did we ever let it get that far?
Last site of you was leaving
Getting in your car
With tears in your eyes
I would have stopped you
If I knew
Why did you die?
What did I do?
So I sit now and reminisce with you my love
I promise my memories will never fade
I sit and reminisce of our love
As I weep by your grave
All I can do for us now my love
Is hope that it is true....
That you can see all I am
And feel this with me too
The words spoken in haste that day
I now repent at life’s leisure
Reminiscing my form of repentance
For losing everything I treasure
