Nature's wonder***
RAINBOW

This promise from God has been sealed with a sign,
The world will be flooded no more;
A shimmering clue to the Leprechaun's gold,
According to old Irish lore.

Reflected, refracted are ribbons of light
When sunshine and raindrops oppose,
Or Nature is painting a freshly washed sky
In shades of magenta and rose.

Soft violet bordered by indigo blue
Then blending to glorious green,
Shy yellow, proud orange, and radiant red
Compete in this heavenly scene.

Mere words seem too trite for this chromic delight.
Though its beauty I've tried to extol,
The true wonder lies in its silent surprise--
The smile that it brings to your soul.
