She was the wave
Being drawn to him
The sand, vast and steady
There forever

They were at the beach
In each other’s arms
Thinking how lucky
To have found one another

She, from the sea
Wanted risk and adventure
Tried to pull him along
With all her might

He, the element earth
Content and stable
Tried to pull her back
With all his might

She was hurt and he too
Hearts bled from rejection
And they kissed at the beach
To say good bye, forever

The beach waited
All knowing
For them to rejoin
As the time stood still
