Mr. Roger hopes his date goes well.
Mr. Roger looked at his watch
He waited for what would take place
Would true love from this hatch
True love a thing to chase

It was the pier at which he sat
Boardwalk lit up like fire
He stood looking at that
Waiting made him tire

He slowly gave up hope
Would she ever come?
Tears made him choke
Would she ever come?

Mr. Roger had given up
His date had stood him up
Little did he know she had gotten caught up
Waiting in the tides
