A short 55 words story of a guy at the lowest point of his life.

The stench of stale beer was gagging.
I’d rather not analyze the brown gooey mass near my elbow.
I could see Ed’s socks were mismatched; his wife had finally left him.
Everyone thought the alcohol had knocked me out.
I’ve never felt as sober, and as low.
The cold hard floor was my only sanctuary.
