My heart is apparently bent on destroying me...
It just wanted to be written. I wish I had a kinder muse...

Foolish Heart

Not much is left of it
But what little is there
Treat it gently
Treat it with care.

But foolish heart
Begs to be broken
Leaving my weakness
Out in the open

My weakness that man
Almost a ghost in my past
He cut me down
I thought we would last.

Desperate for his touch,
Longing for his care
Content to be silent
As long as he’s there.

Broken for him
Many times
He inspires this
And many rhymes.

My muse perhaps
But look at my works
Seldom a happy song
Always it hurts.

So I’ll lend this heart to you
But I can only promise a part
Because mostly
He still has my heart.
