The pain of leaving your first love behind
Walking alone on that Saturday
while I was going away from you
I was in love in the month of May
my thoughts belonged only to you.

To the rail station on my way
you silently stood I couldn't argue
the sun was yet to rise in the day
and glistening on the grass was dew.

The train arrived, you were far away
the anguish was not seen but by a few
overwhelming was your being on replay
hard it was, the pain was ever so new.

The wheels moved jeeringly away
the passing shadows waved and bid adieu
everything conspired for me to stay
I saw them all, in many colors and hue.

The wind moved against my unsure way
the trees inclined along hard, it's true
the flocks on the vast field did sway
they were bewildered and I too.

And came the stones, crimson and grey
grave expressions, words could ever do
then I saw blue waters of placid lake
your face reflected, whispering ‘love you’.
