I wrote this for my cousin who ministers to women in prison
Restored

All through my sinful nature,
nothing good had lived in me.
Then I accepted my savior,
and he restored my sanity.

So I made conscious decision,
to give my life and will to thee.
And he freed me from my prison,
so that I may clearly see.

I took inventory of myself,
did not care for what I'd seen.
Put my pride and ego on the shelf,
and carried out James 5:16.

Once humbled I was lifted up,
and was forgiven for my sins.
Then purified in righteousness,
now my faith belongs to him.

Always do unto others,
as you'd have them do unto you.
Treat your neighbor as your brother,
and they will see that you are new.

When you are wrong admit it,
from Gods good graces don't fall.
Do not doubt for one minute,
that He dwells within us all.

He looked beyond my faults,
and He saw all my needs.
He looked beyond what I was,
and saw what I could be.

He looked beyond what I had done,
and saw what I could do.
I know what he's done for me,
and He'll do the same for you.
