First stanza reflects familial origin, second upbringing, and third personal integration.
We were a flock of wrens
The cuckoo demanded the finest olives
Only to spit them out
Hungry for flesh and thirsty for blood
He pushed his foster siblings
From the nest
That is how my grandfather
Fell to the ground
That's where my father was born
And so was I
And learning to fly
Is hard from the ground
(And what are flightless birds but hopeless noisemakers in delerium?)

I remember the chaos
When Saturn and Jupiter crashed
And the rings shattered
It happened ever so slowly
But we children saw it
In its terrible glory
We had to choose a home planet
I preferred Saturn
For its calm beauty
But I feared the winds
So the sun appointed me to Jupiter
And I was stuck in high winds
Trying desperately
To fly and keep up
With the eye of the storm
They assured me
"The winds on Saturn make this look like a sea breeze!"
But I can't be sure
And no one saw Pluto
They defined it
Out of existence

There is nothing left for me
But to muster up my courage
And run out of the eye
And into the strongest of gusts
Learn to fly there
And use my wings
To race to the heavens
Awaiting my arrival
Or my fast-pass ticket
That is death
But all options
Are only a means to an end
