A pensive moment on a dull day and a plea for tolerance of my clutter.
There is a time when all of us
must take stock of our gifts
It enables one to see it all
And each one it uplifts

So look around at all the clutter
The memories and detritus
and offer gratitude in silence
Like Andronica and Titus

As lovers who within their tryst
Didst plot and plan and snare
So can we as we offer thanks
as often as we dare

One is grateful for the moments
That come to us some times
To reflect upon one's situation
And express it in small rhymes

In other spaces I have written
And none of it makes sense
But writing here upon this page
I can sit upon the fence

I really do collect things
I have a need for stuff!
My family know this foible
They ask, 'Have you not got enough?'

But for every little knick knack
Thers is a story or two
The memories of many years
and who gave what to who.

This is the scarf my mother wore
And this was Dad's old cap
Those bottle tops will be so handy
Those washers and that tap.

It's junk to some but treasure to me
I hope you understand
I'll leave a story for each thing
When I up and quit this land

So bear with me my darlings
This funny little quirk
Of saving things for a rainy day
It helps me in my work

I'm really grateful for your help
In clearing out the old
It helped me see what else I need
Before my bones get cold.

I'm attracted to all sorts of things
There really is no order
My squirrell eyes noticing
Anything on the border.

I really try to restrain myself
I think I'm getting better
But every so often I have a splurge
Perhaps I need a fetter.

I'm thankful for this chance my dears
To unclutter my old mind
Maybe on another day
I'll leave foraging behind

And live in minimalistic mode
With nothing left to muse on
But that is some way off methynx
I quite like the confusion

And when I'm gone you can hold a sale
Within our garage double
But please whilst I am in this coil
Please don't burst my bubble.
