A poem of a sons unwillingness to change.
THE HERETIC SON

He walks in darkness
Though light has been given him
Fumbling, Stumbling
Though his path has been cleared
Confusion is chosen
Even when clarity is offered

Heartache,fear and loneliness
They are his companions
His way is his own
Their pleads fall upon deaf ears
Mothers' tears and a fathers' shame
His stubbornness knows no bounds

The years pass, the light has faded
His bed is cold, eyes dim
A sudden fear grips him
His error realized
The circuit of blindness now complete
Darkness....his dear old friend
