A fellow inmate, supposedly she wasn't all there, but she had class.
She sits across the room and smiles so sweet,
no one can tell that underneath
she hides her pain from all around;
little girl lost, never to be found.
They say "She's crazy; watch out for her.
She's not known to play well with others."
Well, if that's true , then all I can say
is maybe they should walk in her shoes for a day.
I say she's beautiful, and strong for sure,
because in spite of all she's had to endure,
she can sit across the room and still smile at me.
You see, it's what's in her heart that sets her free.
We all have our crosses; some are harder to bear,
and when I feel like giving up, I'll see her sitting there,
smiling so sweet and hiding from the world
that Brave and Beautiful, that Strong little girl.
