Nothing is ever what it appears.
It starts slow,
  but then it always has.
They curve and trace,
as if they have always have.
Some act alone and disappear,
  they are the lucky ones.
The others group and grab,
  the orgy ensues.
Once more they become a whole,
  no longer individuals.
Another droplet curls along the stained path,
  the road has been set.
They reach out to greet this new member,
just another ripple.

The cold steel cries out to him,
  the group screams for more.
Clear tarnishes crimson,
  just another new member.
Metal snaps into place,
they hush.

Others rush out to join the fray,
the reunion complete.

A cough, his last breath.
Wasted.  She is on his mind.
And, the gun in her hand.
