poem about loss
If I lay here very still
this gnawing hunger gets its fill.
Then rushing silence crashes in,
as the last of you drips through my skin.

Then rustling leather wings brush by...
I'll lay here still and pray to die.
Nothing seems to ease this hurt,
the digging stops, but death won't work.

And a thousand cloudy days go by...
no matter that I'm still and cry.
Nothing stops the thoughts of you,
no matter what I say or do...

All thats left is bitter ache
and that is how a cracked heart breaks.
and fall to pieces once again..
smaller still than I can mend.

No words will do you'd care to send.
So come to visit me, old friend,
come on inside and sit by me...
'cause misery loves it's company.
