This is my idea of the perfect first date.
It was an important night for me. I had a date with the most awesome boy ever! He was very popular and the cutest boy in the entire school. His name was William. He was taking me to the most secretive date that I have ever been on. He told me that I should dress comfortably because it was going to be a hot date. Admittedly so, that could have meant anything. He told me that he was going to pick me up at 7 sharp.

I was in my room trying on about 10 different outfits before I landed on a blue jean miniskirt with a hot pink tank top. I fixed my hair and made sure that not even a single hair was out of place. My makeup was just perfect! I had to make 100% sure that I made this night more important than prom night! He came in to meet my parents, got my curfew, and we were out the door. Once we were in his truck I asked where we were going just one more time. Yet again, all I got was a “You’ll see when we get there and trust me, you’ll love it!” When we got out of the truck, he placed a blindfold over my eyes.

“What is going on?” I asked going into shock.

“I can’t tell you. I want you to surprise you. You will love it. I promise,” he said patiently.

I can feel him helping me into what felt like a boat. I couldn’t help but think, “Where in the world is this crazy boy taking me?” I can hear him rowing water. So I figured that we were in a canoe. We are sitting there for what seems like forever to me. He then helps me out of the canoe and unties the bandanna. I can see a bridge of some sort and the water looks luxurious. We are at a beach with many people sitting in beach chairs and towels. This night will be way better than prom night!

“What do you think?” He says with a smile.

“It is perfect!” I said trying not to overreact.

Someone gets on a loudspeaker and announces the fireworks will be starting in T-minus 5 minutes. William gets out our beach towels and lays them on the white sand. He lies down and pats the beach towel directly next to him. Together, we lain there talking and giggling. I was doing the giggling and he was doing the talking.

Before we knew it, the first firework exploded. I noticed that William went to grab my hand. I smiled and thought of a fairytale. That is exactly what tonight felt like! How could something this amazing be this real? With each new firework, the sky lit up even more. One single firework could light up the entire sky!

After the firework show, it was at least another 2 hours until curfew. So, he took me out to dinner. It was one of those fancy type restaurants. He told me that he had a little extra money saved up and thought he’d put some use to it. Over dinner, we got to know each other a little more. When he had the bill paid and we were starting for the door, I couldn’t help but grab his hand.

To William the date was still not over. He also took me out to get ice-cream while we walked in the park. We got back in his truck, after our walk, he drove me home, and fortunately the date was still not over. We made sure that we stopped about a block from my house just to make sure that we couldn’t get caught with the “goodnight kiss”.

“I had a great time! This date was beautiful and I can’t believe that this was all so real!” I said enthusiastically.

“Ah. No biggie. I had a blast! You looked amazing tonight!” He said just as enthusiastically.
Now, I didn’t feel like such a nerd for being enthusiastic. Well, as far as the goodnight kiss goes, it was magical and as far as the date goes, well let’s just says that it’ll go down in history as the best date that has ever happened in my entire life! As far as William goes, we are now a strong couple and every year that they have that firework show, we go and he gives it a little twist each and every time.

Author’s Note: I can promise you that this is very fictional. “William” is just a crush and this describes my ideal first date with anyone who can prove to me that they can have a great relationship with me.
