A poem written by me for myself
Not so long ago, you longed to be a famous person
Someone that creates inspiration
Someone so influential
She could set an example

At school, there were lab experiments
We dwelt deep and had so-call 'achievements'
Though numerous books piled our shelves
We never really understood ourselves

Then you met someone you thought you knew
They painted all your dreams anew
But they soon left as if they never were
Sealing their paths for another wanderer

There were stone hedges you thought you could count on long
These you clung on gratefully
They all looked so tough and strong
Who knew they were caving in internally?

Why were you so faithful, in short naive?
What makes you have in people so much believe?
The millions of masks they had created
They hid their faces making it so complicated

Maybe you had stopped trying to understand
We are all but like specks of sand
Remember yourself in spite of things they've done
Then you had really WON
