There is wisdom in the tattered pages.
Old beneath the tattered pages
Eyeless, sees the world beyond
Cary on the knowledge wages
A war that brings the night to dawn

Wrinkles drawn by timeless hands
Burning deep the parchment on
Glass that sifts the falling sands
Listening for the timeless song

Beneath the pages all is seen
From those who've gone away
And long the light of candles sheen
The eyes for those who stay
