this is a piece about black women.
Strong Black Woman

You are every woman mother, sister, lover, and friend
Smoothing things out with your special blend.
Hope for today as well as tomorrow
Allowing God to be your strong tower.

Philosopher, teacher, minister, and coach
Far above all reproach.
So full of promise, motivation, and pride
Stepping out on faith, and still walk with a stride.

Your love, and loyalty are for those whom you care
Your words of wisdom, and encouragement are the ones that you share.
You are made stronger through your trial, and tribulations
For they only elevate you, and give you your foundation.

A queen, significant other, mate, or even a date
A partner of some sort is what it inevitably equates.
The backbone, and strength for so many
You are the key to your own happiness only a little sadness if any.

You might fall, but you always get up
No one can hold you down, because you fill your own cup.
Success will always be your fame
You have a story, and a legacy beside your name.

So when I see you in the mall
Or when you are walking down the hall.
Even when you are worshipping in church
Maybe it’s just styling in your short skirt.

It could be while you are sitting in class
Watching me watch you as you walk pass.
I will give you the respect that’s due
So this poem is in honor of you.
