This poem is a SESTINA..a form of poetry dating back to the twelfth century
As I say goodbye to you,
all those moments we spent are coming back to me.
Shattered and smashed are all those dreams,
and all those promises of eternal love.
All I can sense is this colossal pain,
as I bid you adieu with a broken heart.

I wonder what dissembled my heart.
When did a demure guy like me fall for you?
How did you become a potion for all my pain?
Why didn't my mind caution me,
before I drowned deep in your love?
How did I drift away into the sea of dreams?

Still had I seen this coming in my dreams,
I would have cached the secret deep in my heart.
and implored the heavens for our love,
for I felt so incomplete without you,
and needed you to be there for me,
to share every moment of my joy and pain.

Love shows pleasure but hides away the pain,
and makes man fancy impossible dreams.
Such was your magic that cast a spell on me,
I lent you my soul I lent you my heart.
Soon I found my life so secure with you,
that you became my definition of love.

But why did you make a mockery of my love,
and burden me with unimaginable pain,
for deeper than the oceans I loved you,
and made you the princess of my dreams?
Didn't you feel a bit of the agony in my heart?
Didn't you ever--even for a second--really love me?

You may have done this to me,
and now you'll make someone else fall in your “love”,
for you can't live for long, without breaking a heart.
But it's not easy to live with all that pain,
so please don't show anyone, any of your fake dreams,
‘cause I'm sure, someday someone will do this to you.

I just thank you for the lesson you taught me,
No longer do I wander in the land of dreams, full of love.
For love's just a pain; a curse to live, with a broken heart.
