For those who hope for a love long gone.
An arid land yearns for life long gone
Dead things litter the landscape
Hope has seemed to forsaken her
And given her up to the scorching sun.
Not all is lost, there in the plains
A deep ravine, a raging river
Its fluid arm reaches into the corpse
Forcing life through her veins.
A relentless flow carving,
Undeterred by ancient walls
Splashing fearlessly into the air
Proclaiming its arrival
Shouting its victory over death.
The transparent water laugh with joy
As it melts her callous heart
As it softens her parched skin
As it breathes a life, a hope,
A love that never dies
Look, a new hope glimmers in her eyes
