Reflections on war.
A young man off to war I went
Tales of deceit spun by my government

I am anger, I am murder, I am hatred
Another example of a youth wasted

Always thinking of death I want it to stop
The bodies in my nightmares continue to drop

Wanting you to know what I know and see what I see!
A malicious mindset is overwhelming me

Torturing the innocent, killing the poor
And they call me a hero of war?

A hero of War! Is that what you see?
Further from the truth you couldn’t be.

Sleep evades me night after night
A vision of my former self, falling further out of sight

Enclosed in my mind forever, the carnage of war
Days spent dreaming of the day, when there will be no more
