A haunting poem.
In the days of darkness,
A world ruled by the young,
I found myself captured,
In the cave of lip and tongue.
I watched the dance of longing,
It laid my soul so bare,
I looked when I heard weeping,
To see it standing there.
All was white and naked,
It filled my heart with dread.
To see the white ghost running,
Through the city of the dead.
I knew the Dark was coming,
I knew the Dark was me,
I knew what it wanted,
So I begged the ghost to flee.
I chased it 'cross the plane,
That plane so filled with white,
I chased it through the morning,
And well into the night.
This pale white ghost did bring me,
To the Tree of Want and Need,
And there I brought myself,
To feed upon its seed.
