a meteor falls in love with Earth, based on a creation myth
Whoa!

Falling through galactic seas of faces, names and numbers which are facts of life that I will never know.
Tumbling past the cosmic edge where comets bloom and Universe sees fit to ebb and ebb sees fit to flow.
Until I throw myself in orbit round you hung on wire ‘thinner than your atmosphere’.
But I ain’t no geostationary, cruising crazy satellite that bunches oceans every night;
My momentum draws me ever near.

Burning up on force of entry, gripping flaming entrails is that blazing heart truly what was mine?
Pain and fire don’t distract me, anything that gets me closer to your terra firma is just fine.
Then impact by grace of gravity lands me on your desert dazed and choking;
longing for a taste of morning dew.
You did draw me here from outer space, I’m gripped, I’m grabbed, a grinning wreck
That doesn’t regret

The leap I took that brought me crashing down to you.
