a man murders his sanity
The cobra reels
A pounce
A strike
That poison is my own
That poison is my own...

You need a second sometimes to realize just how lost you really are
Your hiking and you stop to drink water
And you realize you don’t know where you’re standing
Up until yesterday that was my life, a lie, a lie I just followed aimlessly until I stopped to take a breath, turned back and didn’t know who I was, I know now...

I wish I didn’t.

Have you ever wondered how long you can lie until you start to believe in/it yourself?
Have you ever heard the tapes of serial killers, priests, and rapists?
They make sense, everything that comes out of there mouth is eloquent.
The truth.
Yet you know dip down even they can’t sleep at night.
I pray they can't sleep at night
the only truth we share is that we must die, divine a right, right?
I look at the mirror and it won’t answer back, the soft gentle features of my face contorted by the disgust I feel for me, but is it me?
I thought I knew but I know not, and now I wish I was the now I was a moon ago the now that felt he could be cured, the now that lied even to himself to keep the world away from this monster that has become his own, my own.

I killed him yesterday.
A victim first of a thirst that must be quenched
Inquisitor meant hand of god
The cobra reels
A pounce
A strike
That poison is my own
That poison is my own
Inquisitor meant hand of god
That poison is my now
