Tom wrote a letter.....and got no reply...It made everyone cry..
Tom wrote a letter.........
but got no reply
It made everyone cry

Just wondering how things are in your world
It's the last weekend of the summer
I can't stop dreaming when you were my girl
I ask,  "why did I run away from her"

Thats the reply, she was hoping for
but all it did was just hurt her more

Victimless crime she truly desires
her last chance in life to restart the fire.

Tommie's not a man, she's a girl I know
haven't kept touch in years
her heart is like a broken bone
It is why I lend my ears.

She says she needs closure
understanding she'll never forget
she can't see it's over
feels trapped inside this net..

They call it a whim, known as desire
open your eyes and feel the fire

Victimless crime she truly desires
her last chance in life to restart the fire.

Tommie you know karma will catch him
when it's all much too late
the new man in your life
he will carry the weight

Someday in the future
his thoughts in the abyss
he sends Tommie a message
that sounds something like this

Just wondering how things are in your world
It's the last weak end of the summer
I can't stop dreaming when you were my girl
I ask "why did I run away from her"
