Halloween

Halloween, hysterically haunting.
Mischievous, mysterious melodies.
Fearless candy fetchers fill the streets,
clothed in colorful costumes.

Night noises fill the neighborhoods,
frightening friendly fiends.
Hovering, hooting owls
give goosebumps to all who hear.

It’s late, little ones. Leave with
your little bags of goodies.
Run home. Hurry, hurry!
Halloween’s coming to a halt.

Only ghosts, goblins and ghouls
are allowed to be out this late.
Scurry to the safety of your home.
Savor the candies you collected.

Lie in slumber--sleep awaits you.
Dream only of delicious delights.
Fear not the frightening night creatures.
They, too have hurried back to their homes.
