A poem about mental conflict
Why Do You Ask?

Why do you ask
if my face is a mask,
if I really see nothing but blue?

Why do you care
if nothing is there
or if my sight is slightly off hue?

Yesterday's gone,
Left with memories alone,
without a clue what to do.

He left at first light,
no longer in sight,
and my mind knows not what is true.

Move quickly along now,
for I can't tell you how,
Or when light will my spirit renew.
