This is a poem to a friend of mine from school.
Wonderful and gorgeous,
Pretty and nice;
Kind and forgiving,
Patient, without vice.

You are strong
Like a Douglass,
And powerful like
The Condor is.

The beauty of
Your face transcends,
And sophistication of
Your speech portends

The beauty of
What lies within
Your personality.
And I begin

To see, you
Are like mithril;
Lasting through fire
And battle until

You emerge wiser,
Stronger, mightier than
You were when
The combat began.

How could I
Dream that one
So perfect could
Be so fun?

But I look
At you And
Know that your
Love is banned.

So now I
Will not weep
Nor will I
Lose any sleep

Over a matter
As trivial; I
Now turn away
To the sky

And await the
Person Providence withholds
From my grasp,
That I mold

Easier into what
He wants from
Me. Segragation now
Is my serum

To tide me
Through the time,
When, henceforth, I
Now will climb

To the place
He sets me.
And for this
I thank thee.
