My first political/war poem, not quite sure what to think of it yet.
There's no hope coming from the soul
No love coming from the heart
Everyone's another stranger
Close ones all fallen apart

Is this really living?

Bombs and guns are your new toys
Tested out on young girls and boys
They run and hide away in shame
No protection in this deadly game

You take them from their easy lives
Won't let them say a simple goodbye
Lock them up, left and forgotten
Not caring if they live or go rotten

Is this the gift your giving?

Children left scared and alone
Your drunked fires burned down their home
Old games they no longer play
You took all they had left--You took their childhood away

Is this what you wanted?
Had this been your goal?
Terrorizing small countries?
Putting them in their own hellholes?

They kneel down, begging for death
To take them from this fucked up mess
Of course you don't allow that
No--you prefer torture instead
Drowned, raped, ripped to shreads
Burned, blinded, just cut of the heads

Why are you here?
Do you even know?
For terrorists?  For threats?
No, no I don't think so.

Just look in the mirror
it takes five seconds at most
And do you know something?  The person you see?
That's the only terrorist on this side of the coast
