the beginning of a story about a girl, a boy, and a village
The colors were all fading out of the sky now leaving only shades of black and blue. The horizon was if not still as beautiful just as mysterious with this full moon looming above her. There was a light soft breeze that danced with the silk of her shirt and played with her hair. She grasped the fingers on her left hand with her right, hugging her knees that were pulled up to her chest. Sitting here in the dark on the cool soft grass she could hear the bullfrogs and grasshoppers all around her. She was far away from the cars and the trains out here.

What are you thinking about? Joseph asked.
You. Krista responded softly.
Me?
Yes, you.
What about me?
I always think of you.

There was a loud unexpected sound from behind them. It was coming from the village.

There was another loud noise from the village and lots of screaming.

The fire was devouring the city.
