Inspired by the Tradition Poetry Group! I had fun doing it. I hope you enjoy!
Get Out!

"Please child, don’t do that.
I can’t stand the sight of those things.
That is the reason we bought a cat;
to rid us of rats and the trouble they bring!

You shall not feed them cheese,
or you shall indeed be punished.
Jesus nephew they have fleas,
but still you learn nothing from it.

There are hundreds of them! You did it again!
You deliberately disobeyed me!
These nasty rodents, they are not your friends.
Get out and give me your key!

You act as if good ways aren’t embedded.
But answer this one question:
What made you so hard headed,
And veer off in another direction?"

“Aunt Mary you make me go to Sunday school;
and boy it is dreadful and boring.
But you made me look like a fool
when you popped my face for snoring.”

You did it in front of my darling Anne.
For that I needed revenge.
You are disgusted by rats Aunt Mary, so I made a plan.
I fed and bred, fed and bred, and then I welcomed them in."

“Get out of my house you lousy mouse!”
“Indeed, but watch the one by your blouse!”
