About being caught in the grasp of a certain addiction
Blood Red Angel
by Erica Courville
July 21, 2009

Embrace the ways that haze the days
As down into the maze we gaze.
Amongst the grays that glaze this craze,
Lies the answers in rays that blaze
From the blades of the blood red angel.

In its grasp we tend to stray
Into the way of darkened day,
And as we sway from black to gray,
We pray the light would stay away
So that the day would not betray
The ways of the blood red angel.

Now its demands we must obey
As we convey our heart's decay;
As our souls are led astray
And in the delay of life's dismay
Awaits the blood red angel.
