This was inspired by my first time seeing Akido and my experiences training at the dojo.
Poetry in form,
Before my eyes is born.
Moving through empty space,
My heart is pierced by grace.

Prose has been lifted off the page,
And now commands my gaze.
Flowing free upon the parchment of time,
I am captured by living rhyme.

Drawn in and surrounded,
In awe and astounded.
Lifted out of my lonely reverie,
Swept into the arms of poetry.

Poetry in flesh,
Within my soul enmeshed.
A living verse, a breathing refrain,
And by beauty I've been slain.

Poetry has been taken and transformed,
And in body is now born.
A vision of what words can not express,
I am drowning in loveliness.

Enraptured and ravished,
All my senses are lavished.
My whole being aches unbearably,
To be swept into the arms of poetry.

Poetry is alive and takes a stance,
And I, seeking to advance.
Move forward, holding nothing back,
Drawing closer to attack.

Prose has been lifted off the page,
And now enfolds my rage.
Surrounded by living verse,
My fury is dispersed.

Confounded and confused,
At the mercy of the muse.
Beauty ascends and breaks my heart utterly,
Swept into the arms of poetry.

Poetry living now commands,
Harmony flowing through his hands.
Drawing in life force with his breath,
And I am surrendered unto death.

Prose now masters space and time,
And all around me shines.
In submission, I am released,
I am living and at peace.

I am whole now, I am mended,
Healing flows where I was rended.
Ascending the gates of the heavenly,
Dressed in the arms of poetry.
