Love cannot be built on secrets
You started out as my secret,
an obession of which only I knew.
You stayed hidden beneath
until the snowball finally grew.

You then became my sanctuary,
a place of spirtual wealth.
Assuring you'll protect me,
mostly of my inner self.

You turned into a dream
which later became reality.
Slowly it became real,
shifting away from 'only me'.

Turned out you needed me too,
apparently you saw me as the one.
I was all you could think about,
'without me there was no fun'.

Then, events escalated,
finally the two of us would speak.
It started out perfect,
yet flawed when it reached its peak.

Slowly, everything fell apart
and I knew that I was there to blame.
Love cannot be built on a secret,
it is not entirely the same.

On a collision course with fate
we tried our best to be brave,
reaching out to each other
searching for something to save.

The snowball would eventually melt,
the both of us secretly knew.
I then discovered who caused it-
it was secretly both me and you.

Turned out you had a secret too,
something you hid from me.
You thought I would never find out,
you thought you did it secretly.

You were trying to repair,
and mend your secretly broken heart.
This was your goal, your dream
put in action right from the start.

You were on a mission to strike back,
and fight for the one you love.
The blow struck me when I realized
I wasn't 'your angel sent from above'.

You tried to reinstate your magic,
said to me what was meant for him.
Secretly, you pushed me to my limit,
you forced my heart into its brim.

Love cannot be built on secrets,
still we tried to do it so.
We both eventually meant it,
that we would eventually both know.

With our snowballs on collision course
we realized what it was about to do.
Our secrets ripped us apart,
affecting both me and you.

Although all is now lost,
everything will go on.
A compulsion hidden beneath,
still going strong.

For not too long ago,
not completely far from here.
We started out as a secret,
but even to ourselves it wasn't clear.
We both created a snowball,
obsessions of which only we knew.
You were my secret,
turned out I was yours too.
