When I dream about dating "the one"
Can I love you
Without feelings of return?

Can I look at you
And see a friend?

Can I hear your voice
And try to turn away?

Can I look in your eyes
And believe you’re only my friend?

Can I savor your melodious laugh
And deny my love for you?

No, I can’t,
But I must!

Because one thing stands tall:
You are a friend.
