Strength from God
O Lord, in your hands, ever so gently, my life you hold

As I lay my head to rest, so many thoughts of things so cold

I open my soul, nothing could be more true

My guard layed to rest, feeling  best,  from the love I feel coming from you.

Why waste the time on this soul, so tired and broken

When once upon a time, I stood up for you, through me I was your token.

Choices made, promises frayed, I learned to forget how to pray.

Today, to live with regret, always feeling like I am running in a race

Heaven so very far away, it is as if I am just running in place

I don’t need a reason, I will never again walk away

You’ve shown me so much, placed in me a trust, to be who I am today

I never ask you to fix it, or even make it disappear

I only ask for a sign, a light, maybe a whisper in my ear

What is it that I am to do, so that my life pleases you

All I ask is for a sign, a light, a whisper in her ear

So she will see, who I am and what I do today, is so very true

A spirit once broken, but once again alive and reawakened
