A guilty conscience hurts
The cat that swallowed the canary

Thought the flavor was sweet and airy

He devoured it whole and thought no one would know

But the outcome was quite contrary

He was licking his chops and his belly went pop

The sight was surprising and eerie

A bright yellow plume created the wound

And now he isn’t so cheery
