Love, desire, unrequited love
The Other You

She can't be so cruel crossing my path with yours,
knowing the story ends leaving one of us hurt.
She can't be so cruel to make this gracious affair
turn out to be nothing more than delusion and curt.

Is there something to be done to change the weaving of fate?
Shall I go in search of the other you?
Shall I stand by and wait,
when time doesn't
so why should I do anything less than contrive?

Where shall I look to find this other you?
Oh! the places I will go, Porto,
Venice, Queenstown, Colmar, Paris,
in search for our complex moments
of powerfully simplistic wordless exchanges.
I'll seek until I find the you in her that foresees
me, my laughter by which she'll recognize
me.

She can't be so cruel,
this I am sure,
to cross my path with yours,
designing such a nuance love lore.
